Welcome TO Muktaa Charitable Foundation
Muktaa Charitable Foundation (MCF) registered trust founded by socially conscious citizens. Founders of the Trust are volunteers who have come together to manage the Trust and its projects. Samvad Helpline is flagship project of MCF, started in 2010 and runs in Maharashtra and Bihar. Till date we have reached out to over 3 lac thousand calls life changing phone calls. Today we have established ourselves as the largest helpline for HIV in India and are reputed for its high quality.
Ankur (systematic disclosure of their HIV status to children living with HIV), AASHA (initiative to enhance ART adherence), TB and Hepatitis helpline, Sampark (Free mobile service to rural and illiterate people), Call back service for desperate callers and SMS reminder service are some of the initiatives undertaking over years. Project WECAN started in 2012 is a project for training general practitioners oral cancer screening and tobacco de addiction, in collaboration with Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai as our educational partner.
Our addiction related work started in 2015 with training of doctors in Addiction medicine, in collaboration with Rotary clubs and KEM De-addiction centre, Mumbai and has catered to 1400 doctors from Mumbai and Pune. In 2018 we have started lectures on addiction for college students. We hope this will help reduce addiction amongst younger generation.
‘SHALA – Beyond Books’ is our new initiative since 2015. MCF prepared a Tailor made Module by reading through various UNICEF & WHO modules on Life skills Education. This module of two sessions of one hour each is prepared for 8 th , 9 th , 10 th standard students. Main topics covered are Self-confidence & Self Identity, Drugs & Addiction, Interpersonal Relationship, Physical changes in this age. Since 2015 we have
interacted with over 8000 students from various schools in and around Pune.
Our other new important initiatives include:
• Bal Yuva Mhotstav:yearly megaevent for school children. Competition in essays, debates and street plays
• Free anemia detection and treatment camps in remote villages where anaemia is very common and severe
• Ankur (systematic disclosure of their HIV status to children living with HIV)
• AASHA (initiative to enhance adherence to ART)
• SAMPARK (Free mobile service to helpline for rural and illiterate people)
• Call back service for desperate callers
• SMS reminder service for ART refill.
• Sakav for life skill education in schools and colleges .
• Samvad TB helpline .
• WE CAN project for cancer awareness and tobacco de-addiction.
• No-addict: A initiative to prevent and treat addiction by way of education and counselling.
