Our helpline is a non-profit initiative aimed at quality making mental health care accessible and affordable for all. We are dedicated to breaking the stigma associated with seeking help.
Muktaa Charitable Foundation (MCF) has been working since 2005 to create access to information, support, preventive awareness and essential health services around societal issues like chronic illnesses, alcohol and substance abuse, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender and COVID.
Over nearly 2 decades, we have witnessed first-hand the transformative power of our interventions – rooted in psychoeducation, needs-led approaches and quality services – in enabling individuals to take control of their lives and overcome the challenges that they face.
Now, MCF is answering the pressing need for innovative and cost-effective solutions to address the mental health needs of various populations by starting a telephonic mental health helpline.
Our primary goal is the creation of a platform and subsequent channels for anyone, especially marginalised and vulnerable populations – to access free, immediate, quality, anonymous mental healthcare support.
The Faces Behind the Voices
It’s really the people that make us who we are. The young and dynamic leaders who call MCF their home know exactly what they’re good at and they put together their individual strengths, diverse backgrounds and emotional investment in the work they do to give you better outcomes.
MCF has always been actively guided by the trustee team. We have a team of counselors with Master’s degrees in Psychology from various institutions and have been trained in-house for 3 months. Apart from counseling, they are also engaged across various roles in the program like awareness, outreach, referral-building, content creation etc. Along with a project leader, we also have a project management team focusing on coordination, training, supervision, monitoring and evaluation for quality control.
