Research and data has indicated that there is major scarcity of quality and affordable mental healthcare services. Through the mental health helpline, we are creating an accessible pathway to interacting with trained professionals who create a non-judgmental dignified listening space which is anonymous, private and confidential.
We understand that mental health is complex and different for everyone and offer personalized support to every individual who reaches out to us based on their unique experiences and needs. We do not believe in the common supply-demand model of diagnosis, but rather in taking a holistic, person-centric approach to mental health that takes into account a person’s social and economic realities, experience and their narrative. Keeping our intersectional and inclusive lens, we make it our priority to affirm the dignity, rights and context of multiple voices, experiences and narratives.
The program aims to build its awareness and outreach in such a way that various populations know and reach out helpline – especially vulnerable or marginalized populations like adolescents, people with chronic illnesses, women, LGBTQIA+ individuals and communities, sex workers and individuals struggling with addictions and substance abuse to name a few.
Acknowledging the interconnected nature of issues, we are always in process of creating and updating referrals and resources which are accessible, affordable and reliable.
To make the helpline project more effective, we will be undertaking various activities like:
1. Awareness and sensitisation
2. Outreach
3. Capacity-building
4. Networking and Partnerships
